Beliefs: Are We Treading a Right Path?

 Greetings!

The recent news of mayhem in Afghanistan gave me much food for thought. People wage wars to establish peace. What an irony! Will they get peace when most of the men and women die? Do they want to make religion a living hell for people? For ages, religion has been a way to liberate people from sadness but the Taliban  have handcuffed the freedom of soul. It seems that instead of liberating people they are tying a rope around a person. They have made the lives of innocent people stagnant as well as oppressive where the essence of freedom has ceased to flow. They want to take their country to zeniths of glory but how can a country progress where lady workers are asked to leave indefinitely and teaching of science and liberal ideas are banned? How can people be happy in their rule when half of the population's dreams are curbed under a hijab and they are not provided basic rights of education? They are blots in the name of the religion that teaches people about love and brotherhood. They are not the torchbearers who should be followed. They are cynical people who want to rule in name of religion. They have forgotten what Allah taught.

Dear friends, the recent news makes me feel sorry for all the religions of the world. They were formed a long time ago to teach people to treat each other equally and bow down before God. I challenge you. Open any book of and religion from any part of the world and you will find that the ideals and teachings are almost the same. Saints created religion so that people absorb  love, brotherhood, charity, fraternity and other noble qualities to maintain peace and harmony of the world.

But what are we as humans doing? One wants to build the superiority of his/her religion when the basic  foundation / substance has been eroded by one's selfish motives and hatred. A person automatically wants his/her religion or God to be considered superior but are we doing justice to the holy ones in whose name we fight? They would be feeling sorry for our crass behavior and we are out rightly disrespecting them by averting from their teachings. We were meant to find the path of peace but sadly we have entangled ourselves in a maze of  bitterness and the path we ought to have trod lies in an opposite direction!

With this, I leave you to ponder yourself what the real role of religion is and how we interpret it? This post has no intention to injure the feelings of any sect or religion but it's sole intention is to make the reader think about his/her own actions.

With love,

Diksha...

    1. So, sweet of you! It is really delightful and overwhelming!

I also feel bad for those innocent people whose rights have been curbed. The condition is too pathetic. But let us not loose hope. The only thing we can do is to remember them in our prayers and support them if we can!
