Thoughts on Work Life Balance

Dear Readers, While reading the paper three days ago, the headline, 'Ashleigh Barty has decided to hang up her boots!' shocked me as it did tons of others. How could someone in the top for more than 100 weeks (~2 years) who just won two tournaments back to back and was in the prime of her carrier draw out? But when she pointed out to mental and physical exertion as the obvious reasons, my respect for her thoughts were immense. To me, it also brought out a raw yet subtle truth to the picture, success grinds you to exhaustion. People overwork and never give themselves a comma to rest and revive. A time comes when full stop becomes the reality.  Sadly, even my favorite boy band, One Direction is on a indefinite hiatus because the boys couldn't strike a well balanced work-life relationship.
